Dead gorilla leads to trafficking ring
Yesterday we arrested two men who are suspected of being part of a gorilla trafficking ring here in DR Congo. Following several weeks of intelligence work - which I cannot go into for security reasons - we infiltrated this ring, who said they had two gorillas for sale, at a cost of $8,000 each. We wanted to smash this ring and find the culprits. This work has been instigated by our Director Norbert Mushenzi, as part of the emergency program. He has been with ICCN for nearly 35 years so is very experienced.
Unfortunately, this is what we found. A dead female gorilla of about 3 or 4 years old. Decomposition as you can see has already begun.
We do not know for sure if she is a Lowland Gorilla or Mountain Gorilla, because her head is already deformed (and that is one of the main ways we can tell the difference). But we suspect that she could be a Mountain Gorilla, because of the location of the suspected traffickers, ie near the Mikeno Sector.
The two men who have been arrested are being questioned and evidence is being gathered.
What we fear is that the gorilla is either a.) a wild Mountain Gorilla from DR Congo or Rwanda or b.) a habituated gorilla from the Mikeno Sector that we have not been able to track for over 3 weeks now. We simply have no way of knowing.
We also have reason to believe that the ring has another gorilla for sale too.
We are very worried.
The gorilla was found wrapped in cloth, that you can still see on the head
We think she has been dead for about a week
Decomposition is already advanced
Here we are trying to identify her gender

Update: Following questioning of the 2 suspects by a lawyer hired by ICCN we can assume that the dead female infant gorilla is indeed a Mountain Gorilla. The suspects said she was taken from the Mikeno Sector, which is home to the Mountain Gorillas. In addition, for her to have been a Lowland Gorilla she would have had to come from Kahuzi Biega national park, and this just does not make sense. This is quite far away, in Congo terms, and the infant was found a stone’s throw (10km or so) from the Gorilla Sector of Virunga National Park.
This brings our death toll this year for Mountain Gorillas to 10. Now we need to establish where she was taken from: one of the habituated families or one of the wild families. To do this we need to first get into the Gorilla Sector.

I’m horrified, and sickened by this. but at least you have got a couple of suspects. I just hope proper justice is dealt! Good luck with your case against them they deserve everything they get in my eyes!
I really hope that this doesn’t turn out to be one of your gorillas, after all the care you have taken of them. You really do not deserve this. Sounds like you guys really need to get back in and check on your gorillas, is there any news from that side of things yet, or is it all still hanging in the balance?
That is awful!!!!!!!! Poor girl….can you guys find out why she died? Looks like they left the body in tact if one of the suspects killed her? Why would they do that if they are trying to sell gorillas? Definitely some unanswered questions….I hope you guys can get to the bottom of this…and I hope no more are found like this..just terrible!

Well, for all the horror of those terrible pictures, it’s extremely important to highlight the fact that the rangers have cracked a gorilla trafficking ring and made arrests. Let’s not forget that they are struggling to protect the gorillas in the middle of a war. Congratulations to Director Mushenzi and his team. Keep at it and stay safe.

BBC News reports this morning that renewed fighting has broken out near Goma. Here’s part of the story: “Renewed fighting has broken out in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Nations has confirmed.
Gen Laurent Nkunda, a rebel commander, broke a fragile ceasefire and attacked government forces near Goma, the UN’s Sylvie van den Wildenberg said.
There has been no word on casualties but over the weekend the fighting displaced some 4,000 refugees.
The UN says the situation is “very worrying” and called on both parties to respect the truce called this month.
DRC government forces were attacked by the rebels on three fronts, army spokesman Col Delphin Kahimbi told the French news agency AFP.
Clashes occurred in three areas in North Kivu province, he added.
The rebels say war has been forced on them as President Joseph Kabila has declined to negotiate with them.”

It looks almost human in the decomposing stages - makes you realize how much like us they are - frightening to think that these horrible people know their value and I am sure as the situation goes on they will take every opportunity to steal them, sell them, let them starve — they most like hid this one until it starved to death is what I think - how can you educate these people,it seems so difficult and depressing - I admire the courage and the way you guys won’t give up, thank God you don’t give up!!
Well, we are great apes after all and it’s commonly held that gorillas share 98-99 percent of their DNA with us. We all came from the Olduvai Gorge …

This is devastating news, but I agree with Harold that to some extent we need to look at the glass as half full…finding and cracking down on trafficking rings like this are so critical — many kudos to Director Mushenzi and his team.
Ugh, Sheryl, I cannot believe that this fighting persists…When are the UN and others going to realize that talk of truces is simply not action –If Nkunda and his troops could be reached simply through words and promises, none of this would be happening in the first place.
Just to let you know that Director Mushenzi showed us some photos of the two arrested suspects. They haven’t been published, incase they compromise legal proceedings.

In the swiss Medias there is nothing about the crisis. That makes me ill too! Even WWF Switzerland and Germany don’t publish some news on there websites. I have been sending some emails to the printing press, WWF and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

Really bad and unfurtunated news. I certainly can assure you that this dead female is a mountain gorilla. Is unquestionable that the situation in the gorilla sector must improve in order that your rangers can survey the area and find the gorillas. If this is the habituated gorilla that you missed for three weeks…at what family does she belong to? I really hope that this ring of murderers can be stoped and punished not only like poachers but also for commited crimes against a world legacy, because UNESCO declared the Virunga N.P. as a World Heritage Site, and all crimes that can took place there must be considered as a crime against the entire humanity! There are no excuses to kill an animal, there are no excuses to take away the lives of innocent creatures that only want to live in pace and harmony with their world… Please take care of that gorillas, now most than ever. this will be a very sad day…

I wonder if the rebels are not implicated in this criminal action… how do this criminals managed to enter the gorilla sector, track the gorillas, capture them and take them out of the area, with so many army members and rebels??? what if the rebels allow the traffic of the gorillas to get some money?? I´m not saying that this is actually the case, but an illegal animal traffic movement like this in a so volatile and dangerous area is not common. In any case the criminal ring must be stopped by any possible means. I look forward that the another captured gorilla can be get rescued in time and alive.
The thought of a zoo buying a gorilla like this makes me sick. Aren’t zoo suppose to have official documentation on where the animals come from?? Couldn’t you go after the zoos???

People buy them as exotic pets. It may or may not be a zoo. It would look kind of sucspicious for a zoo since there are presently no Mountain gorillas in any zoo. With Mountain Gorilla numbers so critically low, I couldn’t see how or why they could get away with it. This certainly is sad news, Diddy. Although I’m glad that the poachers were caught. I hope that their prosecution will be a deterent to others. Thank you so much for keeping us updated. Again my prayers and thoughts are with you guys and the gorillas.

It’s absolutely horrible how somebody is willing to pay money to buy Mountain Gorillas. What is the satisfaction in keeping a captive animal that is highly endangered miserable in a cage? How can anyone look at that animal and consider it their property?
The sad fact is there are people out there who collect these animals for mere status, to claim that they are of a select few who were able to weasel through the protection system and “win the challenge” of acquiring a Gorilla.
I imagine slave traders thought similarly.

Who are the buyers for trafficked mountain gorillas? A zoo or individual? Can we find out so that they are exposed? No mountain gorilla is in captivity anywhere in the world right? It would be insane to think one could transport or care for a mountain gorilla for any length of time.

you people are funny you care more about animals which you ‘humanize’. than actual people. i agree with apekilla wipe these filthy things out. lets have a huge bbq with tiny infant apes gorillas chimps bonobos and orangutans( who only squeak no scream thats my aim to hear orang scream under torture. first fire a shotgun by its head kabbboooooommmm! ah memories of mom screaming, and then being ripped from her by loud scary hairless apes. then sssnnnnaaaappp!break the thin arms baby gorillas are fun to pin to the floor with a nail gun by one foot, then the blowtorch on its ass then hands seeing its tiny scrunched up face with eyes bugged out and screaming in agony trying to pull its foot free and avoiding the flame with two broken arms you should see how funny that is. leave him there next baby orangutan those thin long arms are fun to break from cradling it to swing it over my head by one arm and sudden stop and ssnnnaaapp! with a wet sound its face is hilarious the shock eyes going wide it squeaks and shits itself so i hold it upside down and flush the toilet around it dipping it in to rinse wow did that traumatize the tiny infant. well nail it to the floor next to the tiny curled up moaning gorilla. awwwww look how cute the orang is trying to hug the little gorilla but the gorilla screams and shits on the floor at contact. now the infant chimp i pick it up by one ear and its quite agitated hoooottttooooothhhoooting and squirming so i pull my straight razor and slowly slice through the gristle and off comes the ear, the infant chimp is sreaming and holding its head it eyes wide with shock. i throw the ear to my jack russell who chews it and worries at it, and the chimp flinches when i pick it up turn it upside down and slowly push a red hot darning needle up its butt. talk about writhe and howl which gets the other two pinned apes squaking too. now i stand the infant chimp up and its hilarious to watch as the chimp trys to pull the steel out and the agony it goes through is the best. now the bonobo it is already terrorized and ready i hold it down so i can pas the torch over it slowly the bonobo screams and writhes . now all four infants on the rack to bbq alive. yummy roasted baby apes.mmmm. I support poachers palm oil charcoal, an deforestation. give me the infants no more worries. man rules. well george certianly made his mind known. I do wonder why apes are afforded human status by the tree huggers? They are only animals. do they have a wriiten langauge have they constructed permanant srtuctures do they worship a diety? The answer is no to all. Its now squeaking loudly in pain which rises to a shriek as I hold its foot still and push white hot needles into its soles. by this time I pick it up by squeezing its soft protruding belly and I shake it hard it pukes a thin yellow strean and starts to convulse. Time to wire it to the rack and put it on the bbqs red hot coals. Boy the infant writhes in agony as it skin blackens and sizzles and it finally belts out a throat tearing scream them it died with a guuurrrghhhh and a spasm. yummy roasted baby ape. You know they are right this is great way to kill apes safely, through fantasy writing like this but watch out if I go to africa or borneo
My what a hatred for gorillas and chimps and orangutans they have. Not me, I love the diapered traumatized baby orangutans laying on its back the tiny thin arms waving and the infant squeaking to be fed the round belly shrunked the skin loose, awww poor baby,,well I cradle the tiny trembling body I slowly grab a finger full of hair on its skull its eyes widening in terror as I rip it out suddenly it squeaks and tries to get away, so I like the thought of nailing its foot to the floor, then the fun is on! its trying to pull the foot free and the moans and grimaces of agony on it face are hilarious, next theres the trio jane rachel and birute with talia standing by tyo revive the tiny apes. Next rachel hold shufai upside dow by one leg his wound split open and he is screaming eyes bugged wide in fear, I grab his wounded wrist and grind down. I can feel the bones grating on each other as well as three pellets from the shell that killed his mother. He writhes in our grasp as rachel laughs and punches him in the guts. the look of betrayal he directed at her was what got the laugh. I’m so glad shes a convert to our side yayyy! (Boy this fantasy is fun. ) so i grab the other leg and we both sharply yank hard in opposite directions and a crunch as shufais hips both dislocate and he screeches and shits a stream of watery fear shit on himself so rachel coocooing his name cradles him while I PREP THE deep fryer. ta da ready shufai any last requests before rachel dangles and dips you slowly into the bubbling hot grease, here we go shufa, wow can the tiny gorilla squirm and scream as his toes are the first to cook his ruined hips allow rachel to dip him up to his hips hooorrraaaayyy! deep fried shufai, of coure the tiny ape dies with a shuudddddeeeerrrrr and a fart which when it burst on the surface with a soggy pop the stench cleared the room,phhhheeeewwww! next the twin infant orangutans ohh those stick thin arms are so much fun to swing them over my head with, and the sudden stop breaks dislocates the bones joints the look of surprised agont on the tiny faces is the best even funnier when I staple their opposite hands together. the infants sqeuak in pain and as i grab the tiny uce who is pissing in fear and shuddering with terror having seen all the abuse so far. I pull the jack off her ravaged body. thats the thigh I spray pure Iodine on it to cleanse it. well baby uce faints so to keep her still I punch an awl through her achilles tendon and thread rope throughit and tie her to the chair for later .mmmmmmmm yummy fresh terrified roasted baby apes . So the twin baby orangutans are clutching each other for comfort after watching baby uces ordeal and they are trembling like mad as I approach they squeak in fear as I light the propane torch. they triy to cower away as the torch nears then sssssssssssnspppplllsssssssnsssnnnnaapppssiiizzzzllllee…..yumy fried orang on a stick. oh yeah shufai Can I have a leg rachel? Now we have baby GAU the crippled infant chimp hurt when he fell out of tree clutching mothers fur as she was blown away by a shotgun so jane holds the tiny squirming infant by the upper body as I fire both barrels of by gaus oversized ear singeing it in the fire. the shocked traumatized look on that tiny face, the rising scream, and clapping a hand to the smoking singed ear is so funny jane almost dropped the infant chimp right there. Tiny screaming gau is introduced to my jack russell whos in a frenzy to get a hold of the funny screaming chew toy thats alive. Did anyone see the national geographic special about the chimpanzees stalking humans? These Goodall sponsored chimps seperately. The first Frodo, attacked a woman and her baby stealing the baby and killing it and partially eating it. The second attack a group of chimps escaped their (save the chimps center) and one attacked a car full of people wounding one greviously and a group of chimps killed and mutilated another man. These people were tourists, how does one justify keeping these animals alive after that? I found it hypocritical that the Primatologists fell back on the natural instincts of the chimps “defending territory” . Yet when these ape workers plead for support these apes are portrayed as human? What incredible two faced stance you have taken. Why were these animals(that is what they are Not humans) not hunted down and shot? Does the fact that they acted on instinct excuse the fact of deliberate uncontrolled aggression? Humans, apes, and other animals all deserve due consideration. It is rather shocking to see the hateful messages posted here. We are not faced with a choice between addressing the needs of humans or apes. By understanding the needs of humans and nonhuman animals, we can appropriately seek to meet both sets of needs, and sometimes we can provide integrated solutions that are helpful to humans and wildlife at the same time. We have much to learn from our close relatives, the apes. Let us not be so arrogant as to believe that only humans matter, nor that humans must be free to do anything they feel like doing, no matter how destructive of the larger environment. At some point we must learn to live within some environmental constraints. If we do not, we will surely ruin our environment so completely that we will have no place to live or no place worth living. Now is the best time to start, if we have not already begun, to learn to live sensibly with the natural world. Of course we, as a species, are likely to always be somwhat inclined to be selfish and to put the needs of our own species above all others, but from a purely selfish perspective, how pleasant a place would the world be without wild places and wildlife, including the apes?

The apes need a chance to survive, I used to hunt prolifically and I almost shot a mother chimpanzee with twins a very big prize she had two babies! When I aimed at her through my scope I inadvertantley caught the sight of the infants feeding ……..now mind you I used to have no second thoughts of shooting a mother animal and her infants………but just that simple act of two infants innocently feeding not having any inkling their whole world would end with the squeeze of my trigger…….I still do not really get it……I could not shoot….I dropped the rifle took a breath and aimed again….this time the mother ..it seemed she was staring right at me from 70 meters away… I could not take the shot!!!! I was working part time in a zoo at the ape section of the place in the back where the primate vets do checkups on the apes of all ages in large and small cages. well one week a tiny one week old infant chimpanzee was rejected by its mother a first time mother . The mother would casually push its pursed lips away from her lactating nipple and the tiny face would crumple into a rictus of hunger and anger and the tiny pinkgummed mouth would yaw open and it would scream…holy could that tiny chest pump out volume and a high screeching pitch!!! I held my ears it got so loud,the tiny hands grasping the fur clenching tightly and unclenching,as well as the tiny feet squeezing shut and unclenching,and that tiny dark brown expressive face was soo funny(you will see later why) and as the tiny chimp its oversised saucer shaped ears are pulled by mom to get the clinging squalling thing off of her and she tore it away and it looked so funny! She was dangling the screaming writhing tiny infant by its huge ears as it struggle screaming and at this point the vet shot the mom in the back of the neck with a dart to knock her down and she shrieked as the dart penetrated her muscle and her spinal cord and dropped the infant on its face! It landed with an audible plop and was quiet…did that short fall kill the tiny thing its is a perfect tiny copy of its mother exept the ears are too big for its head and the little belly is like a puppys and it round like a furry tenniss ball, the vets pull the mom out and leave the tiny infant alone for a while ..I sneak into the cage and pull the privacy curtian after I go retrieve a infant 3 week old orangutan that was abused by its mother ..get this mom would not let the baby feed she would set it down and walk away..then when the tiny thing would roll onto its distended belly and look up at its disinterested mother who is busy eating papaya fruit..and its tiny lightbulb shaped head with its big brown liquid eyes and its expressive face its tiny pink mouth wide open wailing to be picked up and fed held groomed basic animal instincts you ape loving anthromorphizers…… and the tiny thing is cring to be cleaned and finally after a whole day of rolling around and being abandoned the mother comes over and sniffs at the tiny ape who tries to clutch at her face waiting for her to coo coo coo to him and instead she picks him up by a thin left leg by the foot and tosses him up in the air and he hits theground with a thud and the look on his face is priceless the air whooshes out of its mouth and its eyes go wide and its distended belly flattens …next she picks his limp body up and then proceed to stuff it through the bars while holding its right hip and the tiny thing is squeaking(they only squeak they do not scream normally)in a frenzied panic as its body is bent beyon what its leg can take and with a snap its pushed through the bars crying and struggling in the grip of its mother who losing interestdropped it on the concrete floor! and it still rolled around squeaking..so when I picked it up it clung to me and began to suckle at my coat looking for a nipple I could feel its tiny heart hudding away as the tiny face peered at me as I held the broken leg gently and it whimpered awwwww..so to the vet and now a few days later its bottle fed and diapered with its own laundry basket lined with towels and stuffed toy an Oranguatn doll slightly bigger thatn him and he clings to it even when diaper is changed and its so funny when he is bathed in the kitchen sink see the first science video on youtube exept we have problems with hot cold and a few times the tiny infant just bug enought to sit in the palm of your hand.with its painfully thin arms and legs dangling over its tiny facelooking uncertian at this new cold steel ,the last time he saw steel was when a big needle hurt his tiny arm to take blood and he was trembling badly so fisrt under the tap and his face..so funny all scrunched up..eyes screwed shut..ha ha ha..now the soap the harsh lye soap that will burn his skin a bit but ohhhhh heis fidgeting the soap is killing all the germs and parasites but a few burns are not too bad…hmmm any how he is brought into the tiny chimps cage and he is interested in the tiny black bundle of still ape.oh oh oh here he goes dragging his tiny body and cast as well as his lightbulb shaped head trying to keep it from weaving because his neck muscles are still weak..and he sniffs her(yes its a tiny girl infant chimp) and he pokes her which eveokes a hoot hoot hoot..which in turn gets a startled squeak out of him….and he looks at me for reaasurance ..I smile and leave the czage with the two infants ..and sure enough the chimp is waking up hoot hooting away finally pulling itself to a four point stance albeit shaky and the tiny orang squeaking hugged the chimp who fell amed in panic as the orang clung to it tighly and began moouthine looking to feed and the tiny chimp pushed its face away triny to dislodge the tiny orangutans grasping fingers and toes…but lo and behold a mistake was made in the automatic cage assignments systemscrewed up and an adult chimpanzee male who has killed 4 other infant apes along with their mothers ..he has a habit learned from his mother who ripped newborn chimps screaming writhing in the tug of war between the weakened new mother and the homicidal female and the infant would be torn away and its tiny head would be engulfed in her mouth and she would bite it to death on the face and the forehead, the back of its tiny head and she always paused while the infant is alive to rip the oversized ears off one by one holding the thrashing infants bodystill until the screaming thing finally spasms hard and diesthen she would proceed to eat the infant ripping chunks of flesh off the body and feeding her 2 month old infant the raw warm bloody meat giving the baby chimpanzee a taste for infant chimpanzee flesh…this continued until th chimp lost his mother when she knoked an infant chimp into shallow water during another attack and she grabbed the tiny thing and a crocodile came blasting up from the water and grabbed her arm up to the shoulder pulling her in along with the tiny squalling infant gripped in her other hand a startled squack and bubbles and a crimson pool was all was left of her…any how this homicidal hungry chimp named frodo came into the cage pounding the ground and glaring at the two frozen infants who both promptly eeked louldly and probably filled their diapers and they both scrambled up the bars to gain height not realizing that frodo ccould easily reach them both when he stood up…and the chimpanzee especially thiny tiny thing was grinning like mad (I”ve been told that this is no t a happy face it is a terror/fear face) the tiny chimp was sceaming seemingly without pause and its tiny body was shuddering with sheer terror as it let go a thin watery stream of fear shit onto the diaper and frodo homed in on it….he grabbed the tiny squalling thing its hair all standing on end and tore the diaper off its struggling torso…and frodo licked the filth right off the diaper!!!!! And as the tiny chimpanzee is squealing in terror it looks right at me with that expressive face its fear grimace wide the tiny pink gums flecked with foam from the continous screaming as it is clutched tightly in the big strong hand…and now he drops it to the floor and as it plops facedown(again!) and as it tries to roll over and catch its breath frodos foot pins it down by the back as it struggles futilely…sensing its going to be killed it tries to bite the foot…now frodo grbs the infant orangutan by its lightbulb shaped headand peels it off the bars like a sheet of sticky paper…one limb at a time…..and he holds it upside down dangling it as it stuggles and squeaks now sitting down frodo holds the tiny writhing chimp up with his foot and begins to bite its face..small bloody nips that cause the screams to go into overdrive and the tiny hands and feet cannot hold those teeth back fromits tiny head…and now he holds it tighter with one hand on its head turning it this way and
as the tiny chimps face contorts into painful gear as frodo grabs its one ear and with his immense strength, as well as a good nip at the top he rips the ear and gristle away from the spastic himps head and it is wailing bloody murder….Frodos mother would be so proud frodo is smart enough to stay clear of rivers…and the wailing chimp with ine ear gone and its tiny hand clapped to its stump oozing blood and clear fluid is thrust under frodos ass for later and frodo returns to the infant orangutan and her grabs it and its like a red fuzzy tenniss ball with a lightbulb head liquid brown eyes tiny mouth,very expressive face,and four thin dangling arms with such thin long figers and tiny grasping feet,and he swings it around over his head, as it shits a thin stream of fear shit frodo starts hooting wildly oh oh is he going to oh oh yes! He slams the infant orangutan against the ground and the skull is the only thing to impact and it shatters exploding the top and grey,red,and pinkish fluid ooze out in a viscous strea, and frodo picks the twitching orangutan and hold the legs in his grip and starts to lick the oozing shattered top of the warm twitching not quite dead orangutan and the brains seem to be his all time favorite his mom would always let him lick the oozing broken skulls of the seized infants she killed and later when he was 5 months she let him kill a new born helpless infant by smashing its head with a rock(more tool use!) and as the tiny orange haired infant orangutan finally shuddered and died frodo began sucking the brains out in earnest and the chimp under his butt was getting a facefull of ass gas as frodo merrily sucked the skull empty lickng in the red rim getting scoops of slimy red/grey pudding like goo and slurping that dowm the tiny orangutans face was frozen in a scrunched up rictus like when at bath time the water would go boiling hot for 2 seconds and its face would crumple into an agonised expression ha ha ha ha ha ! and the chimp is dragged out choking and sputtering with one ear and frodo grabs the feet and then its head in his massiive hands and begins to slowly pull and the tiy chimp sensing its death begins to shreik and tries to bite frodos fingers but frodo lowers his head and begins to bite the tiny chimps face again with tiny bloody nips here and there so to be helpful to the infant chimp and to future infant chimps or infant apes for that matter I went and got a shotgun and camoflauged it in a cardboard tube,came back just in time to see the last look onthe tiny chimps so expressive face as frodo opened his mouth wide,fangs agap eand descended over the tiny chimps forehead and the look he gave me was funny…like…what am I doing here?….haw haw haw then old frodo bit down hard on the forehead of the chimp and his bottom fangs punching through the thin skull, and then he did the strangest thing like he had practiced it somehow he held the still living flopping tiny infant chimp in his teeth alone,embedded in the chimps skull front forehead and backmidskull and the tiny chimp was still writhing spasming and hoothoothooting madly and it was shitting and pissing all over in a wild spray both fear and death spasm shit and finally well frodo you have monkeycided your last infant chimps”Hey frodo hey! Over here yeah hold that infant inyour teeth atta boy here look in the tube for a treat go on look!KKKKKAAAAAABBBBBOOOOOMMMM!!!!! And frodos head ad the tiny chimp (still alive…eyes fluttering open shut open shut) both dissappear in a red/white/pink cloud of gristle blood bone and of course brains. frodo went over like a wall of bricks !

Dian Fossey was killed because of these people who have nothing better to do with their lifes. They should be ashamed to do such thing as to kill a gorilla in such a diguasting way. Gosh they should go to jail and be sentinsted to jail and death they shouldn’t be allowed to go back into the world. thses beautiful animals don’t deserve to suffer the stupidities and retarded things that these people do. Every time a gorilla gets killed i get more and more ashamed of calling my self a human i wish i could do something about it , i whan’t to do something about it but i can’t cause i am only fifteen but i will try my best to fid a way to help them.

Some of the posts were gross and long-winded. Also some of you should proofread before posting! Minor detail! I believe that the fuss made over the entire ape -saving issue is excessive and sickening!A reasonable effort to enforce wildlife regs is an honest attempt to try to save endangered species. But what sent me around the bend was the care lavished on a gorilla baby. The use of very limited resources; the oxegen especially is what “did it for me”. This event happened not too long ago.Some of you might know about it. I went onto your bandwagon because of your comments( the torture descriptions ) didn’t help much, but the message came through loud and clear !!!!!
Just wanted to add one thing to my post above! These treks to view gorillas in these areas: Congo, Uganda, Rawanda, are home to some of the most deadly,venomous snakes in the world. Have you ever heard this mentioned in the tourist ads? NO! I won’t name the various types, but one is the black mamba and the gaboon viper. The info is readily found on any number of sites!
