Tongo is doing well under the care our resident chimpanzee expert Faustin. As many of you have suggested, the J.A.C.K. sanctuary is the best place for him to go and thankfully they have agreed to take him.
If you would like to contribute to the long-term care of Tongo, please visit their blog and make a donation.
Faustin and Tongo
Proceedings are ongoing against the men who were arrested and Major X. It has emerged that Major X was probably also involved in the shipment of bushmeat that was confiscated at the Kibati barrier in April.

Glad to hear Tongo will be ok ….poor lil fellow…this is not something he should worry about as a youngster…. I hope he will continue to do well..I am sure he is appreciative of the people helping him!
Fantastic news about Tongo going to JACK…I know they will take wonderful care of him there and he will find many other chimps to befriend. Thank you so much for the update!!
Yes! Tongo’s going to J.A.C.K! Thanks for letting us know and thanks for the photos of Faustin and Tongo playing. I’m sure he’ll do well with the other babies at J.A.C.K.

You know we all have to keep evolving - this bushmeat thing is ridiculous - these people need to come into the way of life that has evolved and continues to evolve and give up this horrible killing and eating primates and asian medicines from milking bears, etc. — they are stopping research on chimps because it has evolved there are other methods — really old is old but get over it people — come on into the new times - keep evolving and stop the bushmeat trade, cruelty to bears, clubing seals to death, it’s all just so backward and unncessary!
That’s great to know he’ll be in good hands!
Yes, J.A.C.K. are the best for Tongo. Thank you!
Sounds like all good news today regarding little Mr. Tongo. Amen!
