Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot…Chameleon

20 Jan 2009 Filed under (Other Animals) by Pierre @ 9:06 am

We were taking a break during a patrol and I saw something wriggling on the forest floor. I bent down to see what it was and discovered a tiny chameleon struggling to find its way to the next tree.

Innocent picked it up and checked it out- it was a baby of a species commonly found in this area. After taking a couple pictures, we placed it on a branch and continued on our way.

Pretty cute, not even as big as a thumb! You have good eyes, Pierre.

I’m listening to coverage of Inauguration Day on NPR. I’m not anywhere near the National Mall but it’s an exciting day here!

What a perfect little creature! I wonder if one like it appears in David Attenborough’s new documentary ‘Life in Cold Blood’…

Thank you for helping the little one get to another tree safely. Let’s hope he stays hidden from predators until he grows a little. Great photo of an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot…chameleon. He is so cute!

This is what is so wonderful about all of you - even with all that you’ve been through, you can still find joy in the small things : )

Fantastic pictures Peirre! I was completely enamored with Chamelons as a child…used to catch them at camp and they inevitably always escaped in the house to my mom’s chagrin!
