Video: Bilali with Baby Kakule
Last week when we found the Munyaga family group and saw that Bilali had a new baby, it was obvious that we had to name the baby after Safari Kakule, the Ranger who was killed in the line of duty earlier this month.
Below is a video I filmed of Kakule the baby gorilla with a very tired Bilali:

What a beautiful baby to take Safari’s name. I’m yawning now myself! I’d better snap out of it - it’s first thing in the morning here!
So darling. It’s wonderful to see Bilali with a darling little baby, after last years tragedy. She seems like a wonderful mother! Thanks so much for sharing Kakule with us, Innocent. You are a very skilled videographer! The footage is amazing. Suzanne, lol! I’m yawning too. I better go get another cup of joe. It’s only 7am. LOL!

This is a wonderful tribute to ranger Kakule, and yes, the mother and baby are incredibly beautiful, too.
I’ve totally had yawns like that! You know, the ones where you have a little yawn but it’s not enough, so then you have a gigantic yawn that makes your eyes squeeze shut. What a sweetheart! I hope baby Kakule and those silverbacks let her get a nice nap in!
It is such a wonderful tribute to Ranger Kakule and a great way to keep his love and memory alive. I know he’s smiling down on all of you : )
p.s. How Kakule can get that foot in his/her mouth like that is beyond me! What a flexible little bugger ; )
