The other day we found the Humba family just as they were tucking into lunch, which consisted of a wild banana plant. The gorillas were really enjoying it, humming and grunting with pleasure as they chewed on the succulent interior of the tree trunk.

These wild banana plants are indeed a favorite for the mountain gorillas- you may remember that last August Innocent had filmed the solitary silverback Buhanga enjoying one on his own. You can see that video on our Youtube page here.
