Today ends the Fuel Briquette campaign launched last month to raise $28,897 for the 100 pressing machines and accessories to be installed in the month of May. We have raised $25,332.50, including the 2 checks for $5,000 each from Gary W and Andrew C.

From Balemba, Jean Bosco, myself, and all the Park Rangers who help us on the ground daily, we would like to thank every one of you who has contributed to make this happen. Every person who has made a donation and left a comment of encouragement is responsible for the continuation and success of the program. The survival of Virunga National park and its biodiversity directly depend on human activities. The degradation of the ecosystem represents a loss of the mountain gorillas’ habitat and will seriously deteriorate the well-being of human development. We need to keep fighting to stop deforestation! So please keep supporting this project, for we are still here, fighting, no matter what …
