This may take some time...
Three weeks ago, we appealed to you for help and you responded! Ranger Semivumbi, who has suffered from a leg injury since 2008 when he was shot by FDLR Rwandan militia, will receive an operation that should repair his leg so that he can walk again without crutches. THANK YOU!
Semivumbi has been receiving medical care at King Faisal Hospital in Kigali, Rwanda this past week. The doctors (who requested that we not film them), have found that his leg is terribly infected and they have been trying to give medication and time to clear this up before operating. If all goes well, the operation should take place on Monday, July 18, or sometime later next week. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
On a side note, Rwandan security services visited Semivumbi in Kigali, suspecting him of being FDLR militia. Ironically, Semivumbi’s only connection to FDLR is that they shot him. After many questions, the Rwandan security men accepted the explanation and wished him good healing.
Semivumbi wishes to thank all of you for giving him this gift of health and healing.
