Thanks for the great post. I sure hope Mawazo & family don’t start thinking about the local maize crops. It could only end in tragedy — as evidenced by the two buffalo that made that mistake.

Thanks for this entry- Quite inimaginable. These pictures always had a strong and strange attraction on me - I imagine it must be the same (and much much stronger of course) when you’re right there. Overpowering and beautiful and you feel very little?

Such a sad time for the park and everyone who loves gorillas. This tragedy will never be forgotten. Thank God that things are more stable and the rangers are there to protect our friends in the forest. I am and will continue to be so very grateful they are there putting themselves at risk for a cause they believe in. The gorillas are so very precious as there are so few left. We must protect them at all costs. I am honored to be a supporter of the park.
